For over 25 years Jai Hinson, Artistic Director and Founder of Dundu Dole’ Urban African Ballet, has inspired thousands through West African culture and dance. This riveting story unfolds in Clearwater, Florida where she empowers resilient dance company members to triumph over the obstacles of everyday life.

Warmly known as "Mama Jai," Hinson’s talents and enormous heart transcends generations. She paved the way as a young girl, honing her skills under the tutelage of some of the most celebrated performers and choreographers in the world. Her legacy continues to shine as dance company members who started in the company as early as age 5 have gone on as adults to teach those coming up behind them.

Dundu Dole’ (pronounced Doon-Do Doe-ley) will move you as the art form cultivates the heart and spirit through fiery moves, powerful storytelling, and intense rhythmic traditional African instruments.
